What are Essential Oils?
If you have ever smelt the rind of an orange or lemon, you’ve experienced essential oils. These beauties come from Mumma Nature and are naturally occurring, volatile aromatic compounds found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants.
Essential oils not only give plants their distinctive smells, but they are the protective part of the plant. Have you ever pulled bark off a tree and watched the sap come out to protect the tree? Inside that sap/resin is the tree’s essential oil. When we use essential oils we are using the plant’s natural protective component to support us.
So it’s no wonder that essential oils have long been used for food preparation, beauty treatment, and health-care practices.
Are you a sceptic?
To be honest I was a sceptic of doTERRA, not because of anything I had heard about the company, but because I was already an empowered consumer and it concerned me that the oils were not ‘organically certified’. This led me to do lots and lots of research before even trying the oils, and it’s testimony to quality of doTERRA’s oils that I would align myself with them.
I would never use any other essential oil now that I have the knowledge of research and the experience using doTERRA.
